Canadian Tuxedo

Canadian Tuxedo 5

The other morning I woke up to deep freeze temperatures and all I wanted to do was stay under the covers and skip the whole heading to the office nonsense. Begrudgingly I talked myself into combing my hair and donning my Canadian tuxedo- which I thought was appropriate given I didn’t have any meetings that day! No one to see me, I could practically wear yoga pants, but of course I was much fancier in my denim on denim combo. But Nooo, a footloose and meeting-free day was not to be my destiny as my calendar pinged at me as I sat down to my computer. A meeting reminder, with my lawyer- my very proper, perfectly coiffed South African lawyer.

Once at his office the South African shook my hand in his perfectly pressed lawyer attire and raised a quizzically eyebrow, “I didn’t catch you on a day off did I?” Smiling I said, “of course not I knew we were meeting so I made sure I wore my tuxedo today”. Perplexed, confusion and perhaps a look of fear crossed his face as I casually explained Urban dictionaries classification of a Canadian Tuxedo.  He high pitched laugh further confirmed he was completely bewildered and had decided I must have some wannabe hipster complex. None the less the meeting proceeded without another word about my tuxedo as the clock was running and I’m guessing the South African’s suit’s don’t come as cheap as my tuxedo.

haha! You told the story as well as you wear it. I love that denim shirt – and looks so nice with the yellow sweater.
