Falling For…. Office Footwear

I wasn’t planning on sharing my excitement for this fall’s fashion until AT LEAST the beginning of August. But this morning I got quite a shock when I stepped out to head to the office and it was a meager 4 degrees C, only about 57 degrees Farenheit off from my brother’s deck in Houston today (note to self: book plane ticket)  So turning my seat heater on, I started thinking about my close toe options for the office as I tried to defrost my sandaled feet.

Here are what I’m calling office footwear staples for this fall. All these styles can be mixed and matched with many outfits and they can transition easily with summer outfits until the weather cools down in your area and you can start adding some warmer layers.

Fall Footwear Staples

1. Try a new take on the nude heel with these Anneke mid-heel pumps from Sole Society. The stud detailing gives a Valentino like twist and these heels could transition from office to weekends so easily.

2. Classic Black Bootie– You can get miles and miles out of a classic black boot with fall and winter outfits (Yes I’m sorry I said the W- word). These western inspired Makinsense boots from Nine West are classic enough to go with practically anything. It’s makinsense to me that these should be a must on the fall roster.

3. Suede Oxfords– These feminine Frieda oxfords are trendy and comfy in a rich burgundy (which I’m told is going to be a popular colour). Mix with dresses for early season and tailored pants as the weather turns colder.

4. Printed Pumps– I love a printed heel with a classic sheath dress or a plain pantsuit. Why not try this snow leopard pattern on the Flax heels from Nine West.

5. Custom Made Flats– A great ballet flat is a staple to any wardrobe but why not make them your own one of a kind? My eye is on The Classic Point from Poppy Barley Made to Measure Footwear in a rich camel suede. These flats are custom-made for the shape of your foot and you can choose your own colors and hard wear that you want to customize the look of your shoe.
