Got Gold?

I’m preparing for a long weekend of sled skiing- for those of you unsure of what this is, it is using snowmobiles to access backcountry areas for the purpose of powder skiing. As much fun as it is, the smell of gasoline, the obnoxious high pitched whine of the engines and potential avalanche hazards does not scream femininity. I fear the helmet hair, bulky clothing and no makeup appearance doesn’t make me feel my inner goddess. To add insult to injury last time we were out I managed to pass by a group of guys stopped for a break, turns out my sled skills were not as it seemed and the next thing I know I had rolled the sled and myself, in front of everyone. In an effort to come help my flooded sled, the guys continued to ask “Dude are you ok?” Ouch. So  as I prep for these activities I decided I needed a day of ultra- girly before my Butch weekend. For some reason I put on my gold jewerley for fun outings and dressing up- I reserve my silver, white gold for more conservative requirements such as work, meetings ect.  This way I figure when I head out to take care of my errands I won’t get mistaken for a “Dude”.

I am superstitious and I recently found and had to have this rabbit foot with “Love” pendent on a long gold chain.  It adds some character to any outfit and sends out positive vibes.

I had been shopping around Art Central last month. It features art, jewellery and clothing from local artisans and I found many inspiring items in the shops. My favourite finds were a gold antique pinky ring made from a spoon that I got from Franny E. adornment gallery, and some dainty Moroccan Earrings from Goya Gallery. It’s a great place to check out if you are looking for a gift or something unique.
