Here’s To The Boys

Whenever I post on fashion, to-date it’s been for the ladies. If the gent’s in your life are anything like G2, it would include the combination of being a conservative dresser who hates to venture into stores and is also colour blind. So to remedy this trifecta I usually venture out solo to find appropriate items or lately we have been perusing the internet together, looking at things he might like to update the wardrobe, all the while telling him the “blue” jacket he really likes is actually a bright purple. With all this research I decided to consolidate some of my top fall choices for the “guys”.

Typical me, starting  with the accessories. Shelagh Blatz (Designs by Shelagh) is a western inspired silversmith and has started creating a men’s line of jewelery. I bought these Indian nickel cufflinks for G2 and he loves them. The fact that Shelagh takes custom orders, G2 has many other ideas to share (I’m turning him into an accessories nut 🙂

Double D Ranchwear has refreshed men’s western wear with their new DOUG line, including shirts, tee’s and outerwear. They have just released their line so telling G2 he could be on the cutting edge of fashion and on trend rendered him almost speechless.

Vintage Shoe Co.

One of my favourites the Sundance Catalog, has a robust menswear section complete with some great shoes, boots and bags. Their items have a classic feel that are updated with some on trend items. This has been another favourite online stop on mine.

Finally if your conservative gent entertains the idea of dipping his big toe in the risqué, “on trend” side of men’s fashion. I would suggest online shopping at Simons. The price point on their fashion is excellent which is perfect if you are just “trying something out” They also use great fabrics and the cut is good for some of the leaner, meaner boys out there.

Thanks Shelagh, we have been out and about with hunting season but are very much looking forward to meeting with you! I think like most women I’m the creative director and fashion editor in our house house 🙂
