Just Roll with It

I have a few trips coming up in the following months so I am in need of new luggage. My previous luggage I chose purely for style at the time, bright butterfly covered- Paris Hiltonesque suitcases that I am realizing I may have grown out of and the cat may have shredded to help me move on. In looking at all the choices out there I realize it MUST HAVE WHEELS. Too many overloaded duffle bags have caused me to struggle through the turnstile like Gollum and I’ve realized it doesn’t need to be that hard or look that awkward. So I’ve come up with a list of options but am having a hard time choosing. Do I go for pure function over fashionable form? Will I be able to see it on the rack through the sea of black and navy bags?  So I listed the following options:

  • MEC Rolling Duffle is a great price ($120) and comes with many of the compartmentalized features I’m looking for
  • Burton Wheelie Double Deck Travel Bag; I love the colors and the size of this bag but not the price tag at $339.
  • Dakine Split Convertible; Has the size (>120 L) that I’m looking for, a conservative pattern that’s not black and fairly priced but weighs 13kg alone!
  • Ogio Rig 9800; Is a great size, comes in stylish patterns and has a lifetime warranty for the whopping price of $300
  • Quicksilver Venture Luggage; Smaller size than what I want but an awesome Camo pattern with decals that I love.

So which one should it be? Help me out I’m having a hard time choosing!

I have had two Dakine suitcases for 4 years now and I love them. They are so durable, still stylish because they come in lots of cute patterns and actually weigh next to nothing. (I think you should double check the weight). I have the split convertible but I would recommend the split roller instead. It has more pockets inside which keeps everything nicely organized! Have fun in Maui!!
