Spring Retro Vibes

Yosemite” Tee | High Waisted Jeans | Belt and Purse- Vintage | Bandana Silk Wild Rag

I hope everyone had a great Easter weekend! Plans for us changed a a bit as the weather didn’t warrant a road trip, but we still waited it out and enjoyed some sun here at home. And with the warmer weather on Sunday, I was able to put out my deck furniture- so Spring that means no take backs! Fingers crossed it only continues to heat up and I can get in the yard soon and maybe even “gulp” put on some shorts!

But I have been rocking some retro vibes on most weekends lately that I wanted to share on the blog. First off I love this Electric West graphic tee from Her Public Boutique, and although I can’t wait to throw it on with cutoff’s in the summer, I struggled to wear it the last few months, until I found these high waisted jeans. Now if you asked me 10 years ago if I would ever wear denim with this rise- the answer HECK NO! But honestly they fit almost like yoga pants and nicely “hold everything in”, as I’ve come to appreciate with pants over the last few years. Mind you, I don’t tuck them in all the time, but this outfit had such a retro festival vibe, it was a necessity. So I got over my insecurity that ladies with legs and a butt shouldn’t flaunt a high waisted denim and here we are…and the bonus- you feel like you have a waist!

So I say this spring, dig out all those retro t-shirts that might be hiding in your closet and have some fun. And since these jeans were such a steal (currently still on sale), they might be subject for a DIY with some embroidery and distressing to get them summer ready- stay tuned. And thanks to my mom for being photographer and hairstylist. She did this fun french braid- mini faux hawk. It’s perfect for days when you are wearing a hat and then need to take it off and viola, no messy hair!
