Stampede Recap

Maybe it’s just me but Stampede was a complete whirlwind this year. It’s no secret we were busy the month before getting things ready for the Cow Town Style Pop Up’s shops in the Hudson’s Bay and Suncor Center. I managed to sneak in quite a few adventures during the 10 days and wanted to share a quick recap with you!

Stampede Recap

Cow Town Style was not just in one but four pop-up shops in Calgary this year!!

The rodeo as usual was my number one Stampede event, I managed to go 4 times out of the 10 days and there was some great action and the weather cooperated and was consistently beautiful for the week except for the quick shower here and there.

My favourite outfit of Stampede, this Kooples maxi and Charlie 1 Horse Sunhat

Stampede fashion did not disappoint this year either! There was so much variety (read less denim and plaid combo) and I was happy to see people getting creative really putting their own flare on an outfit. It definitely translated into outfits you could see yourself wearing through the rest of summer.

Some of my favourite combinations were retro inspired long-sleeves with fringe or ruffles with a pair of high waisted denim or shorts and boots. Of course a hat for most days to keep the sun off!

One of the favourite things about is each and every year it brings together people you might not have a chance to see or meet. This year I had the distinct pleasure to meet a number of people I have followed on Instagram for the last while including Bre- the One and Only Saddle Tramp (@saddletrampbrand) and her lovely boyfriend Zach and brother the talented singer and songwriter Kalyn Beasley (@kalynbeasley). The hilarious fashion blogger Sterling Coomer of Styled by Sterling, Tiffany from Fashion Posse who is just as cute in person and Jena and Trevor Knowles who are some of the nicest, down to earth people you could meet.

We also took a brief break (more like a blitz) to head out to Banff for the Sunset Festival, stay tuned for another post just on this adventure because it’s a unique thing to do if you’re looking to get out to the mountains just for the evening!

Stampede Recap

Overall it was a whirlwind but a great time to see friends old and new and take in the greatest outdoor show on earth! Each year brings something a little different and I’m so grateful to all that supported our Cow Town Style journey and had a chance just to meet or catch up. It’s always my favourite time of year and I had so much fun. Until next year guys- Happy Trails!!
