Stampede Staples

Stampede Staples

Floral Western Shirt | Denim | Longhorn Belt Buckle

This has always been one of my favorite times of year in the city. Not only is the start to summer vacations for many, it’s also a time that the city stops to celebrate it’s western heritage with the Calgary Stampede. Many think of it as a big party filled with beer tents and pancake breakfasts throughout the 10 days but there are also many great exhibits, shows and educational programs that continue to support our cow town roots and give a chance for many to get a rural taste that they wouldn’t be able to otherwise experience. I for one always love walking through the barns or taking in the showcases at the Agrium Center and Agriculture buildings, the sheep and the stock dogs may be my favorite. Also this year is the debut of the new Enmax Park, home of the new Indian Village and Western Heritage Trail so make sure to check it out.

And one thing is for certain, you can never go wrong to have those classic Stampede staples of a great western button up and denim in your arsenal of outfits. To mix things up from the traditional plaid, I love this floral western shirt, giving a cute twist with pops of turquoise in the cuffs and collar. And if you’re like me and have always struggled to find a great pair of western jeans, these Rock & Roll Mid-rise jeans are so comfy and flattering on, I’m even feeling fancy at the barn these days!  And to get a daily dose of Stampede fashion inspiration make sure to follow Lammles Western Wear on facebook or Instagram @lammleswesternwear for some of the latest western fashions starting July 8th, and you’re gonna want to enter to win their VIP Rodeo Experience! Thanks! Sometimes the classics are my favorites, I like going back to my roots. And I may have “borrowed” those lovely boots from my mom, about a year ago 😉
