During winter it’s always a challenge to keep your home smelling fresh when you have limited opportunity to open up the windows and air it out. While I like to burn candles occasionally, I really hate using those air fresheners that emit chemicals like benzene and formaldehyde. So why not try something quick and easy like a stovetop scent? Since I’m not a huge fan of cloves or cinnamon- one of my favourites is a sliced lemon, rosemary and a tsp of vanilla. Simmer on the stove for as long as you like, just make sure you check the water and replenish if needed. You can also use other citrus fruit like grapefruit, lime and oranges, cinnamon, cranberries and cloves can also give a fresh scent.
