Deck the Halls with DIY’s!

I can’t take it anymore, I’m busting out the Holiday posts! I’ve already been planning my baking, and decor for the house. One thing we’ve agreed to this year is NOT to break the bank on Christmas. However it doesn’t mean I can’t work with what I’ve got to create some fun but inexpensive decorations for the house. So I’ve put together my top 5 Holiday Decor DIY’s to bring the Christmas spirit into the house:

If you have some older candles that are a bit of a mis-match, dress them up with some pre-punched paper from your local craft store to create a uniform look.

I’ve got a collection of shed antlers that I would like to incorporate into a wreath and freshen up my front door. Add in some pinecones from the backyard and some fresh boughs and voila!

Admittedly I’m a bit of a magpie with all the Holiday bling out there right now. So what better way to add some glitz to your decor than glitterizing some cheap dollar store toys. These can be displayed by themselves, or it might go well with idea #5.

Flameless candles seem cheesy right? Well they actually have come a long ways, they can be made with real wax, scented and have a realistic flicker of candlelight! Plus it saves you the worries of burning down your house. Remember those pinecones I picked for the wreath? Well take some and spray with a gold or silver paint and incorporate to make a glowing mantle display.

Remember those glitter deer? You could use them in your mason jar snow globes. Add some epsom salts for snow and some smaller pine boughs and you have your own rustic inspired snow globe!

Hope you have just as much fun decorating this holiday season. All images can be found via Pinterest.

I love it too! The only problemn I’m finding is my sheds are a bit too large for the wreath and seems to overshawdow the pinecones! I might have to buy some of the large size ones from Micheals to counterbalance it…
