Years ago as a poor university student, I saved up and bought myself a pair of leather trouser pants from the Gap which I still have and love to this day. So I didn’t find it too rash of a decision to invest in a leather pencil skirt years back and it’s still finding it’s way into my rotation of outfits in the fall and winter. Too keep it relevant, I’ve updated for a classic daytime office look and a trendier outfit.
I’m really getting lots of mileage out of this double buck belt this fall. It gives a trendy and western vibe to any outfit. Another trend from my past that’s come back to my wardrobe is the body suit. Sorry, but not sorry I love this floral print and it gives a stream lined look with the pencil skirt.
And for the office, you can never go wrong with a lightweight cashmere turtleneck. I think it should be one of the staples for fall and winter. It also softens the edginess of the leather skirt and delivers a polished look.
Thinking of investing in a leather skirt? Keep it classic with a black or cognac or coffee brown. Colours such as burgundy or greens tend to date themselves quickly.
