Every year when it comes to celebrating Saint Patrick’s Day I realize I don’t own a stitch of green, I’m talking not even a t-shirt. It just doesn’t work for my skin tone… anyhow I decided to celebrate I would try something different, like baking a high calorie dessert. So to pay homage to the day my offering is a Dark Chocolate Guinness Cake with Cream Cheese Icing with a hint of Grand Marnier from Nigella Lawson’s cookbook. My only request is someone please come take this off my hands- I’m still on my skinny jean challenge… Happy Saint Patty’s Day, please enjoy a green one for me!
Did it taste good? It sure sound and looks good!
Maybe it was the beer but it was great- very moist and the Guinness adds a nice sutble spice to the chocolate. I would add more Grand Marnier to the icing next time or maybe some orange zest. Not enough orange in it for me!
