2016 Team- “Hold My Purse”
“If all your friends jumped off a bridge then would you too?” Well if by bridge you mean an icy race course doing about 100 km/hr while being a human shockabsorber then Yes, yes I would. Last weekend that’s what we did at the 35th Annual Over The Hill Downhill race at Silver Star Mountain. Myself and three other alumni from the Vernon Ski Team formed “Hold My Purse”, the only all ladies team entered in the race. It was a weekend filled with nostalgia, seeing as most of us hadn’t been on a race course in over 19 years (yikes), lots of laughs and a few new moves as some of us may have forgotten our training on how to handle jumps. And of course there were the downhill suits- FULL PIECE SPANDEX, after one run any self consciousness goes out the window.
It was such a fun weekend everyone agreed it’s on the ticket for 2017. I truly feel it’s good for people to get out of their comfort zone and push themselves every once in a while. While I’m not sure how the others felt, that was definitely accomplished last weekend for me. Now I’m looking towards other goals for the remainder of the year. I found a skijoring video that I posted below, ladies I think we should give this a stab, what do you think??

What fun and look at the form on those gals! Amazing after 19 years – I can’t even bend down like that with my bad knee, so pretty jealous about that 😉
Thanks! We couldn’t believe we could bend down like that either lol, I think it was a near miracle I even got up again 🙂
