As we have started the first week of the new year, I can’t help but feel motivated, optimistic and energized for 2016. After the last year, I feel like this is a fresh start and couldn’t be more excited that I’m healthy and happy to set new goals. Instead of setting succinct goals, I think mine qualifies more as a wish list. I mean I’ll give it my best shot and see where I end up, but writing it down seems to be one of the first steps towards success!
- 1. Preplan Travel
I’m a wing it girl or we’ll see what happens and then make a plan. After health issues last year and concerns over the economic slow down, I’ve really limited any time or spending on travel. So this year I’m making a conscious effort to preplan and book some time off. That could mean a mini escape to the mountains or a longer trip somewhere on my wish list. On my wish list this year I think Nashville and Portugal top my list.
2. Continue to Renovate the House in the Woods (on a budget)
When I bought the house in the woods, I knew it would need updating throughout, it’s just how much could I do over what timeline? Initially I set monthly budgets and projects for myself and with the holiday season any time on the property was shelved for the time being. But on the hit list this winter is the home office remodel and workout room, followed by hopefully some landscaping and larger kitchen remodel in the summer/fall. I can’t wait to share my journey of learning how to piece this house together!
3. Cranking up the fitness regime
Rebounding from surgery last year had me back to square one, and the addition of the fur monster I’ve increased my daily fitness through walking, hiking and running around with him. Now through some insanity, I felt participating in the Over the Hill Downhill this Feb. I have to step it up a notch BIG TIME to be able to make it down the hill, let alone fit into a downhill suit again! So with the official text going out to the team yesterday, I am implementing some Lindsey Vonn workouts and squatting my little heart out for the next month! There’s nothing like a deadline to get you motivated!
4. Stay Creative and Share C&C in New Ways!
This holiday, I put together a family cookbook to share our Ukrainian Christmas recipes with the entire family. We stripped away all the “secrets” so that the next generation would have the ability to continue on the traditions and it was such a fun project it got me inspired to share more with C&C in a more interactive manner so stay tuned, we’re inspired and it’s gonna be fun!
What do you think? Who else has a new years wish list and what are they?
Good luck on your goals! I can’t help but wonder (and now I have to go Google this) what sort of TPF Lindsey Vonn had because THIS girl can’t do that yet after 18 months. Heck, I got to heal just to go back for a new knee 🙁 My goals are to become healthier on the inside. Not exercise, but good eating, good sleeping, and get organized after a very long time of not being able to do more than survive !! Happy New Years Brandy!
Those are perfect goals Lori! Thanks for sharing and all the best to you in 2016!
