As I mentioned in previous posts, the last month has been a whirlwind of moving, starting reno’s and adventures with Gunnar. He’s a Toy Aussie x Border Collie and ready to go ANYTIME, in fact I’m still looking for the off switch. In this photo he looks adorable while sleeping, but typically mornings start around 5 am, a whirlwind of fur, licking and chewing.
At 13 weeks he already has quite the personality, is scared of the dark and so must sleep with an entourage of stuffies, loves the cat but is not quite sure why she doesn’t show the same love back and proved already to be a great hiking companion and office assistant. It’s not to say it isn’t chaos most days as friends and family are subjected to at least one comedic text or video a day, but honestly couldn’t imagine not having the little guy around now. For the longest time I convinced myself that now was not a good time to get a dog, there was always work, travel and other obligations…. it just wouldn’t work with my schedule. But this year I’ve realized, the NOW will never present itself at a perfect time, you just simply make it work and adjust accordingly. And the decision has far outweighed the extra work. The home feels more alive, the cat although aloof has a new buddy and it’s rewarding to watch him grow and teach him new things. I’m predicting lots of future adventures with this fur monster because he loves the outdoors! Stay tuned…
For many years I felt the same, too busy for a dog. Now we just got a second puppy. 2 Australian Shepards for our family.
