At the end of October I took a few days off and headed to the mountains with family, in my absence one of my business partners thought he would take it upon himself to create our company’s Christmas party invite. Well bless his heart because he managed to create and send out an invite that promptly sent people into a tizzy with two little words:
Semi- Casual
Not only did he place festive snowflakes and scroll on the card, but he also determined that the parties dress code was to be semi-casual. Which I was promptly asked to clarify at our next Monday morning meeting. Wikipedia couldn’t even prepare me with a coherent answer to our Christmas mystery:
Semi-casual is a dress code in the American context. It is less presentational than informal but not as loose as full casual dress.
Well that makes perfect sense doesn’t it? So now I’m giving my visual impression of semi-casual, maybe I’ll show it next meeting. To be honest, sequins’ might fall out of the range of semi-casual but it’s Christmas, so I’m going to stack them on…
Sequin Blazer- Cashmere & Camo; Boyfriend Jeans- Joe Fresh;
Tank & Scarf Necklace- Isabel Marant x H&M
Two words that should not be put together…although it avoids people showing up in board shorts I guess!
You look fab! LOVE the blazer…sequins just make life better 😉
Thanks so much Suzie! I’m loving sparkle right now, and I guess if I can’t wear it to our Christmas party then I’ll wear it on casual Fridays lol.
