Blame it on the summer weather, but I have a whimsical air to dressing these days. I look in my closet and all my outfits seem to have a light, airy feel to them. One of my favourite Stampede outfits this year, fit right up the alley of what I would call Garden Party Chic. This light flowing maxi with delicate flower and blue bird pattern combine with a flat brim vaquera straw hat from Charlie 1 Horse that I have already gotten so much use out of this season are perfect for those open air soirees, a wedding or even the Packwood Grand races that are coming up this weekend!
Essentials to a garden party or outdoor event this summer? Flat, strappy sandals are a must- heels are a no go unless you want to deal with aerating the lawn. A sunhat and glasses to keep you covered up and sunscreen forever and always! And try and wear something flowy or of reasonable length because you never know if you’ll be playing any games.
Thinking of hosting a garden party this summer? Come up with a special sangria or adult lemonade, grab some lawn games and a portable outdoor speaker and make sure to add shade to your seating area and bug spray or citronella candles. Hosting into the evening? Tea lights and string lights add a some ambience to the area that will have you enjoying those warm summer nights.
