Kirkwall Rain Coat in Sorbet | Veierland 2 Graphic Rainboots
Last weekend I headed out to the Idaho/BC border, and while the weather didn’t cooperate in the least for turkey hunting, we were able to get out and explore some other sights. Don’t get me wrong, I’m cheering for the rain right now, I say bring it on after we’ve had drought-like conditions for what seems like months and a scary amount of forest fires have already started in a number of areas.
However, I always struggle to pack for a trip, where I might be bringing gear for multiple uses (I think I have a rule of a 3 jacket minimum on any trip). If people still traveled using trunks, I wouldn’t be in this predicament… Anyhow with limited time most of us have when travelling, you don’t want the weather to hinder your touring. While I have lots of rainproof outdoor gear, let’s just say it’s built more for function that err fashion. Finding a rain jacket that actually keeps you dry while still looking stylish seemed liked the Holy Grail for years to me. Then I saw the Kirkwall jacket from Helly Hansen’s new spring lineup. It comes in an array of options including this fun Sorbet color which may be my favorite (after turquoise of course) and is lined with chambray for some extra style points. I love that you can belt it which is totally figure flattering opposed to looking like the Paddington bear. Paired with some cute and comfy graphic floral rain boots, I think this may be the most stylish I have ever been on a rainy day, minus the crazy Monica hair from the humidity, but thankfully the hood keeps the rain out and the hair in…
