I can’t believe Christmas is almost here! This year the decor has taken on a different spin with the house in the woods, it’s almost like it was built for Christmas time. I wanted it to take on a cozy “lodge” like feel and added lots of faux fur touches with vintage ski accents. There are throws and blankets scattered around the house, perfect for curling up in a chair with a book and a coffee. I also took advantage of the natural surroundings and abundance of branches and fresh greenery to make wreaths, a rustic centerpiece for the table, heck even the tree was found just a short drive away from the house. I hosted a winter bonfire this weekend and brought the indoors out to the yard with some of the details complete with a s’more station and wild game Smokies. From the decor to the food, I tried to source as much local to the area as possible. Overall I wanted guests to feel like they were far removed from the city out in the mountains for a quick little retreat.
