Joe Fresh Top | Cody & Sioux Shorts
When I first moved to the prairies, I immediately had feelings I would describe as the opposite of claustrophobia. The wide open spaces and vastness made me anxious and seemed utterly alien when compared to the mountain town I had grown up in. But over the years I developed a definite appreciation if not love for the prairies. I found myself out in the countryside last week and realized how beautiful it can be in the summertime, the yellow bloom of canola stretching up to a never ending expanse of prairie skies on a sunny day is stunning. And although I may not be lakeside or other quintessential summer activities, I am bound and determined to take in as much of the sunshine as possible this year. I’ve tried not to notice the fall fashions that are creeping up on us, or the Back to School ads- I’m just not ready this year…just a few more beautiful weeks is all I ask for. So until then I’ll bask under these prairie skies until cooler days make me trade my shorts for some camo 😉
