Spring Fashion Night @ Hudson’s Bay Company

Last night we were treated to a glimpse into 2018 Spring and Summer Fashions at Hudson’s Bay at their historical downtown location here in Calgary.  The fashion show was held in the event space Hudson’s , following cocktails and canapes, showcasing bright, flirty spring and summer trends. I myself now might be obsessed with red and bright canary yellow hues going forward into this season.

After the fashion show the party continued downstairs as the 5 level department store was open with a multitude of speciality stations in all departments. From makeup booths, DJ’s playing, chocolate fondue stations and specialty products. My friend Jen even got a blowout at the Dyson hair salon! From there we hit the shoe department hard, there may have been a few purchases or three to be exact (not naming any names here), but when the sale price of the night was up to 70% off designer brands- I mean, how could you not? And if you are from the Calgary area or visiting and haven’t ever been to the historic flagship store downtown, I highly recommend you make the journey as this location carries many of the iconic Hudson’s Bay items- Point Blankets, Clothing, Furs, House wears ect, that you can’t find in the other department stores in the city. I for one just love walking by just to see the character building itself if you’re strolling by on Stephen Ave.

And we finished off an amazing night with a wonderful meal at The Guild Restaurant, located on the main floor of the Bay building. A sophisticated backdrop to showcase urban butchery with a speak-easy vibe on the lower levels. I highly recommend it for it’s cocktails and half priced wine menu on Wednesday’s as well. It’s definitely a sexy spot to stop and refuel after some shopping. It was a wonderful evening and I finally have started feeling after last night that maybe, just maybe warmer days are right around the corner.
