Well folks we’re at that time of year again, it’s Christmas in July as Calgary Stampede kicks off tomorrow with parade day! For the next ten days the city will revel in Stampede Style galore and I in all my joy get to wear boots and hats the whole time.
As any year I love going through my wardrobe to tweak my western vibe and while it’s a part of my day to day life. I understand that some people always feel it’s an “expensive” costume to have to try and dress in western wear when living in Cow Town.
So that’s why I wanted to share some sales and places to find in-expensive pieces to fit your own spirit of western wear and in a way that won’t break the bank! Plus these might be stores you might already shop at and can transition into your everyday wardrobe.
Saks OFF 5th- Currently having a 25% off all clearance items sale for Stampede. I have found this great retro inspired midi dress that I plan on wearing in the office for the remainder of summer.
Joe Fresh- I always love pieces from Joe Fresh as dresses or denim can be found for less than $30 and classic cuts that can be mixed and matched for years in your wardrobe.
Winners/Marshalls– These two chains are also favourite stops to find trendier or designer pieces for less to spice up your western attire. I even found a whole bunch of Frye booties and bags lately- pieces that you would keep in your closet for years!
Peacock Boutique- Looking for vintage western wear, or gently used cowboy boots? Try consignment shopping! I love Peacock Boutique as they always stock up before and during Stampede and they have amazing selection at all three locations in the city.
