Of course I’ll start by saying there is a reason for why I titled this post after Gretchen Rubin’s bestseller, The Happiness Project. The book questions many ideals of “happiness” and what is a best fit to create your own happiness project. Sometimes when life gets busy or you hit a rough patch it’s easy to lose track of what makes your soul smile. I find I most enjoy the pictures of myself and others when they don’t necessarily realize a camera is present or they are too caught up in the moment to notice.
Which is why my photoshoot of today turned into nothing more than feeding the ducks in the park behind our home. It was windy and cool. My shearling vest combo turned into a cozy camel jacket, JOE wedge boots and a piece of Twelve-Grain Bread. I didn’t stand up and pose, I sat and enjoyed all the drakes and hens until there was nothing left and then G2 finally said, “hey look up!” A friend posted a book quote that said, “Happiness has Simplicity as a major ingredient”, and I truly, wholeheartedly believe that.
You look stunning-
these ARE great photos!
Thanks so much! He didn’t think any would turn out since I was paying attention. Happy to say I think he did a great job!
You look so pretty in all of these photos Brandy!! I love photos that are taken when you are not really “posing” for the camera. Those always seem to turn out the best (for me especially)
Thanks so much Raquel, Agreed I always think capturing those moments are my favourites.
The photos are great! I’m dying to read the Happiness Project, did you love it? Those mallard drakes look like decoys! G2 did a great job!
Wow. Gorgeous pics and girl.
Love these pics. You look stunning and like the “real happy you”. I wish I was there. Next time.
Thanks everyone! The ducks do look like decoys, my dad phoned and asked me that this morning. As for the feeding of the ducks, they weren’t really part of the plan. It was supposed to be a separate event but worked out in the end! And Glynn yes the book was interesting, thought provoking and I recommend reading it if you haven’t
