As I write this post, everything on me hurts. My back is sore, every muscle in my forearms stiff and my overly abused knee screaming at me, but what a great day… We headed up the MacDonald Creek drainage west of Radium. After a 30 km ride into the backcountry we reached some beautiful terrain with great snow. Like giddy kids everyone set out in the rolling snow covered cut blocks to play with their sleds. After some skiing and many stuck snowmobiles we happened upon the “Powder Palace”, a rustic one room cabin that the local snowmobile club maintains. The unique things of this little cabin is the jaw dropping view out the floor to ceiling windows, all the creature comforts one could ask for including foamies, coffee and Baileys and it’s open for anyone to use. It would be a great place to visit winter or summer and spend the night.
