Last night I got to head out and celebrate the Canadian expansion of J.Crew in Calgary. See for years us “northerners” had to stare at the catalog with the only hopes of shopping the J.Crew style guide through our phones or computers. So I was so excited to head out and check out the latest store in Chinook which due to a wonderful partnership with the Alberta College of Art + Design is decorated with some very cool designs and artwork.
We also had a great tour of all their everyday classic designs from colourful knits, leather handbags, Italian cashmere and FABULOUS Jewellery from Tom Mora, head of J.Crew’s Women’s Design. Tom also explained J.Crew’s newly enhanced Very Personal Stylist service, this offering is available and complimentary either through the stores or 24/7 at jcrew.com and through phone orders. Which is truly fantastic because you don’t need to live close to a J.Crew store to have that one-on-one appointment to get styled. I have to say, I tried it out and loved it. So much so, stay tuned for the next blog post. Also Tom explained the fall line was inspired by a trip to Damascus and is going to be luxurious + eclectic, which I’m sure will look amazing.

And why not finish off the night with a little shopping, a DJ and some bubbly to celebrate the city becoming more stylish while supporting the Alberta College of Art + Design. Thanks J.Crew for getting me out of my hermitism for an evening out!
