A wooded view

This will be my second year with my bow in hand.  I didn’t give it as great of an effort last year due to a lingering back issue which stopped me from drawing at a reasonable weight to shoot big game. However this year I am hoping that I can harvest a whitetail with my bow.

I like to be independent so on top of checking trail cameras I insisted I learn how to put up my own stand, little did I know how much work those tree steps would be and picked one of the bigger spruces to initiate my skills on… But the hard work I’m hoping will pay off, and besides it’s fun! Checking the trail camera’s is like getting a Kinder surprise, you never know what to expect. G2 and I play the guessing game as we are driving to check the camera’s on how many photos each one will have. Plus trying to pattern the area and understand the deer is like putting together puzzle pieces. So I am hoping that with a little diligence and some patience that my whitetail season will become successful. Now if only I could find a way to keep my feet warm!

Always fun to see new bucks and animals pass by the cameras

Good Luck Girl! I’ve been hunting hard this season, and it’s SO tough. Coming from a 12 year veteran rifle hunter. I felt like I was cheating with the blackpowder on my bow!

It’s funny how that happens. When I went sheep hunting I had a rifle and a bow- guess I just like to carry the extra weight cause there was no way I was going to get close enough, but I’m always optimistic! haha
