I find cutthroat trout, or “cutties” to be a very redeeming little fish. After a dry stretch with the brown trout I was fishing for earlier this summer, we’ve done some walk and wade trips to alpine streams and lakes where these little trout have been very eager to bite my fly. So much so that I started wondering what I would do with them if I kept some for dinnertime. I found this Lemon Buttered Herb Cutthroat Recipe that I thought would be worthwhile sharing (Please note I catch & release fish, so I have not attempted this recipe). While generally small, I’ve heard they can be very tasty!
I also got to try my gifted Simms Headwaters Day and Chest Pack combo. It fit everything in that was required for a day of trekking up the creek and the great part was the easy accessibility when I needed to reach for the camera or even forceps.
Oh my goodness that looks like fun! And aren’t you the cutest person on the river?!!!
Thanks Suzie, If by cute you mean me acting like a 12 year old the whole time I’m catching these little fish… 🙂 I’ll have to show you our hike of insanity last weekend 🙂
No I meant cute as in you’re one stylin’ fisherwoman who is obviously enjoying every second of that experience! And you should see/hear me when I catch a fish…I scream and giggle like a girl 😉 Lol
