Sunrise from a Duck Blind

Did you know that daylights savings was implemented to save on candle wax? Well in today’s world of flameless candles, some of us might have forgotten how daylights savings works. I learnt about the candle wax bit after a brief argument with G2 that he may have been incorrect with his “Spring Back and Fall Forward” theory (apparently they didn’t teach this in MBA school…). I mean, I lost an hour this year already, who the frig wants to lose another? Yes, this was a hill I was prepared to die on. So with the help of Google and the clock properly set, we woke to a clear, crisp morning and headed out to set up on some ducks and geese where the rancher’s field was being heavily occupied.

Shooting shotguns is always fun, but being tucked away warm and cozy watching a brilliant sunrise with the Rocky Mountains as your backdrop, it’s priceless. We shoot Beretta Xtrema’s and swear by them. After a fun morning’s shoot we cleaned our ducks and geese and got them ready for one of the many “bacon recipes” I’m trying this month (stay tuned later this week). Working with a dog is always a fun time, I just have to work on my calling a wee BIT more!
