Swimco Adventures

Hello Everyone! Hope everyone’s having a great Canada Day weekend, I’m happy to say we’re back for regular scheduled posts this month! I wanted to kick things off by sharing a little bit about my Swimco adventures, if you recall back in May I was headed out to shoot their summer/fall campaign with some other amazing and inspiring people and honestly I think the experience has been the most exciting thing to date in my blogging career.

First night I flew in to Kelowna with fellow blogger and swimsuit model Leticia from Beauty Talks Beauty, (who is literally as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside) where we were picked up by a limo driver and whisked to our first night at the Swimco house on west Kelowna. If you head to my Instagram highlights you can see how beautiful the setting is, but I wish I could have also captured how warm and welcoming the entire Swimco team was the instant we walked through the door. Once settled in we chatted on the deck with some local wine as if we had all known each other for years! Then it was off to bed for an early wake up call to start the day.

Next morning we were up at the crack of dawn for some breakfast and to get beautified by the amazing Brie Stein Artistry– a local Kelowna makeup artist who did the best beachy makeup and hair I’ve ever experienced. If you’re in Kelowna/Vernon looking for a makeup artist for any occasion, Brie is your girl. Next up after all the outfits were organized and packed up- we each had about 8-10 for the day! We headed down to the marina area in Peachland to begin the shoot. The weather was beautiful and even though the water was still chilly- it was inviting with the 30 degree temps.

Our photographer for the day was Brittany Truss from Ivy and Rose Photo and videographer (yep video too!) was Jayden Rutkowski from Common and Co.  Not going to lie, it was a little intimidating standing in front of a small group of 5 people while trying to look cute in a bathing suit! But everyone was very encouraging, professional and such a fun group to work with. I even had some action shots, like riding a cruiser with a go-pro to having a gang of pups to hang out with on the beach- it was so much fun. Any insecurities I had about wearing a swimsuit seemed to melt away because holy crap I was being treated like a legit swimsuit model!

After we wrapped up shooting, we got changed and headed down for a beautiful dinner at the Hotel Eldorado– which has a beautiful restaurant overlooking the marina. We enjoyed an amazing dinner and views with of course some more local wine to celebrate the end of the shoot. I wish I could have met the other models that were there the days prior- as it feels like I’ve come to know them as well through IG and social media! Since this experience I think I’ve been running on a high. I truly feel like I’m part of the Swimco family as they have been so supportive and inclusive in this process. It makes me so truly happy and proud to work with a company that is redefining what it means to be a swimsuit model and advocates that every single person live their most authentic life and rock positive confidence about their unique self because what makes a body beautiful isn’t how it looks, but how it lives and getting the most from the best moments in life. Now isn’t that the truth!

Here’s a little video showing off the day and watch for my hair flip!
